Presentation Rubric Powerpoint Template
Student Work

Instructions: This is a culminating activity for our weather unit. The students will use the knowledge gained in our Meteorology Unit  to locate different  cities across the United states on a map. They will work in cooperative groups to gather data, read information ,create a chart, and use appropriate weather symbols to create a weather map. The students will also write a script using the information given to relay the weather to the class. The students will record their weather reports with a flip camera as a technological tool to present the final project to the class as weather reporters.
Weather Reporter
Your job is to do the job of a TV weather reporter. Working with your group, you are to prepare a weather report for newscast.

What to Do:
1. Each group has been assigned a city in a different section of the United States.  Using the
following websites, gather information about the current weather conditions in that city.

See the worksheet of what to include in the report.

2.You will use the PowerPoint template given to create a presentation including the information.

3. You will also write a script for a weather report to present to the class. Tell about the
weather in the area assigned to you displaying all of your data in  an organized manner.
You should write the report just as you would say it to the class.

4. For the last part of your forecast, include a paragraph on how you think the weather will affect
people in this city. Is there anything in the forecast that might affect people's daily routines?

5. Practice presenting your weather report. The report should last about 3 minutes.

6. The reports are due Friday, January 7th.

7. The Presentation Rubric will be used for assessment .
