Evaluation Student Work

TASK

  • Working as a group of three or four, students will select a script based on a Greek myth. One copy of the script will be provided by the reading teacher.    Students are responsible for duplicating their own copies, memorizing their lines and presenting it to the class.  Class time will be used for rehearsals.  However, students are welcome to come in before school most mornings to rehearse if previous arrangements have been made with the classroom teacher.  If students use class time appropriately, they should not need to spend time outside of school to rehearse.

  • Students are allowed to revise the script they have been given if they choose (add or change dialogue) and add additional stage directions.  However, it is not necessary.
  • It is most important that the storyline remain in tact.
  •  Background scenery will be provided by classroom teacher.

  • The classroom will be the stage.  Use furniture available in class only.
  • Students may borrow props from what is available in the class.  In the past, the social studies room has allowed students to borrow from its costume/prop collection.  However, students need to check this out with Mrs. Henry first.

  • Students are allowed to bring in additional props or costuming.  However, each group’s props must fit in ONE garbage bag.

AUDIENCE

  • Reading class.
