Students will choose one historical figure from any of the civilizations covered in 6th grade Social Studies this year and will create a “My Old Face” page for that person. Students will be given a template where they will enter information and pictures for their chosen figure to create a concise summary of his/her life. This template can be found on the HKMS website under “Projects,” as well as a link on the Social Studies teachers’ websites.
Students will work in the HKMS computer labs and at home to complete the research needed for this activity. Final Historical “My Old Face” Pages will be presented in class and assessed as follows:
- At least three relevant, clear pictures were used___________
- All sections were completed in detail ___________
- Information was appropriate and historically accurate___________
- Work was polished for writing mechanics___________
- All work was completed as directed and on time ____________
TOTAL POINTS – 100
Students are expected to conduct additional research at home, on the computer and/or in the textbook, then use the link on either the teacher websites or under “projects” on the HKMS website to access the “My Old Face” page template.
Hardcopies of final pages will be printed in color in the HKMS Media Center (or at home, if preferred), and submitted for grading on Wednesday, June 2nd.
