As part of our study of ancient Greece, students will create a visually appealing, two-sided travel flyer persuading others to visit this fascinating country. Working alone or with a partner, students will use Microsoft Word to produce a flyer about interesting aspects of ancient Greece in general, or about travel to one particular city-state. Students will be writers, artists and editors, gathering information from the textbook, websites and other materials from the Media Center. Each group or individual must also submit a properly-formatted Works Cited Page, with a minimum of four entries (using both books and websites).
Each flyer will cover the topics listed below, and must include colorful fonts, pictures with captions, and other graphics. It is imperative that all information contained in the flyer be HISTORICALLY ACCURATE. The front side of the flyer should have a large, eye-catching title with colorful, interesting pictures, while the topics below can be addressed on either side of the sheet. The back of the flyer can also have a small “logo” of your travel agency, and must show the name(s) of the student(s) who produced it. The grading criteria are on the back of this sheet. I hope you enjoy creating a travel flyer about ancient Greece!
