1. 2010-11 Music Progam at HKMS:
Earlier this week, you received a letter about next year's music program with a form to complete if you child was interested in participating in the instrumental program. I am writing to provide some clarification regarding the information in that letter.
As you know, the Easton Board of Education adopted a budget that resulted in the reduction of one full-time music teacher. The less senior teacher was our choral director, Mrs. Megan Kirk. While the Board and the administration are committed to offering components of both instrumental and choral instruction to HKMS students next year, we are still finalizing a plan for how that will work, specifically how many students we will be able to accommodate with the reduced staff.
Once a plan has been finalized, I will be in touch with you again regarding your child's interest in participating in the choral program. Students who previously indicated an interest in instrumental music will have the option of switching to chorus.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions: 268-8651.
2. Final Exam Schedule: 7th and 8th grade students will be taking final exams on the following dates: June 9, 10, 11, 15, and 16. There will be no finals for 6th graders.
3. Student Council will hold its last dance of the year on Friday, June 4!
