Curriculum-Jazz Band

This course offers the opportunity to explore and enjoy Jazz through the preparation for various concert events throughout the school year. It provides an opportunity to become acquainted with various genres of written and improvised Jazz music.

Jazz Band is open to qualified Concert Band members in the sixth, seventh and eighth grades. Due to the sophisticated nature of Jazz music, players must exhibit a high proficiency on their instrument. Again, attendance is required at all rehearsals, which take place after school.
